Parking on Eyton Lane |
||
|
Various members of the community attended the police surgery held yesterday (15/1/26) in Baschurch, during this time it was raised on several occasions that the parking issues along Eyton Lane are still having quite a significant impact especially around the busy school periods.
With this in mind I wanted to take this opportunity to again remind people of the parking restrictions in place outside the Corbet and Baschurch Primary Schools.
Unfortunately, with the car park being closed these continue to appear to not be adhered to by people either dropping off or collecting their children.
Eyton Lane is subject to single yellow line with waiting and loading restrictions. It is important that vehicles do not stop in this area during the hours of 08:15-09:15 and 14:45-15:45 from Monday to Friday. Adhering to these restrictions is vital for ensuring the safety of children coming to and from school, as well as allowing access for school buses and coaches. Furthermore, there are also yellow zig-zag lines located outside and near to the school entrances, which indicate that stopping is prohibited between 08:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in parking enforcement.
The local safer neighbourhood team will be liaising with the schools and bus service in the near future, they will also be out when available, educating and advising anyone parking in these areas to refrain from doing so, and where necessary, within their remit and with the assistance from the local council, will also be seeking to enforce.
We kindly ask all members of the community to be considerate of these restrictions and contribute to the safety of children, visitors, and pedestrians.
We empathise that the location is not ideal for school runs but ask that people walk where possible and if that is not an option to please seek alternative parking in a suitable location.
Thank you for your cooperation.
